Three EdTech GEO Plays for Q3 2026

EdTech brands winning AI visibility are doing three things differently. Here’s what to fix before back-to-school 2026.

The EdTech AI Visibility Index 2026 is live. Khan Academy, Duolingo, and Coursera lead the index. Chegg, Course Hero, and Quizlet — three of the most-trafficked SEO brands in the category for the last decade — rank outside the top 15. For EdTech brand and marketing leaders preparing for back-to-school 2026 and the 2026-27 academic year, three plays should be on the Q3 plan.

Build educator-led editorial. The brands winning AI citation share share have one thing in common: real teachers, professors, and credentialed experts producing content under their own names. Khan Academy, Coursera, and Brilliant all produce content with named-instructor bylines. The brands losing AI citation share publish anonymous SEO-optimized content. Anonymous brand content is invisible to AI engines. Bylined expert content compounds. Build a content infrastructure where every page has a credentialed author.

Convert outcomes into structured data. The AI engines that recommend tutors, test prep, and online programs are scanning for outcome evidence — score improvements, completion rates, learner satisfaction, accreditation status. Brands that publish structured outcome data are winning citations. Brands that bury outcomes in marketing PDFs or paywall them are not. Take your strongest outcome claims out of the marketing collateral and put them on indexed, structured-data-marked-up pages.

Audit for the parent-intent query, not the keyword. The parent in 2026 is asking conversational questions, not typing keywords. “Best math tutor for a struggling 7th grader” is not the same query as “math tutor 7th grade.” The first is what parents now type into ChatGPT. The second is what your SEO team optimized for in 2018. Run a parent-query audit against your top-priority categories and rebuild the content gaps.
